Tim Morris – High Roller # 17

Tim Morris starts his day at 3:30 am. He takes care of personal work early, works out and trains clients or gets his team prepared for upcoming races. Seven years ago Tim was in a rollover accident that caused a T4-level spinal cord injury and it awoke a monster – a man motivated and driven to make an impact! After breaking his neck, back, ribs, shoulder, hand, punctured lungs, brain swelling and a month-long coma, he woke up determined to get back to his life. Prior to his accident Tim graduated with a Master’s in Kinesiology-Pedagogy (Physical Education) and was a personal trainer. His injury became a great asset in helping others with activity based training because he understands what is happening from both sides of the chair. Tim became a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and has focused on neurological re-education, strength coach to athletes, and also works with able-bodied clientele to improve their lives and help them realize they’re capable of anything they put their mind to.

Tim has completed obstacle course races like The Spartan Race and Tough Mudder. He’s the first paralyzed athlete to complete The Spartan Trifecta (all three race distances in the same season, 4 miles, 8 miles, and 15 miles).

Tim Morris is kind of a Badass BACKBONES!

Current Residence: S. New Hampshire

Accomplishment you’re most proud of: Becoming a CSCS because it was hard work. Also, since 2012, I became a doer! For a long time I had just talked about the things I wanted to do but then I finally started doing them! I also have the support of many people to be where I am now…and I am proud of those relationships.

Do you have a mentor? Yes, my chiropractor, he’s my guiding light. And my father. He helps me wrap my head around stuff.

Favorite films: Rudy, Gladiator and Dead Poets Society

Favorite Book: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I actually have a tattoo sleeve of illustrations from that book…haha…I’m basically a tough guy…with a sleeve of a book I like. I also have a tattoo of Superman and Kryptonite. It reminds me of my demon. I used to think I was invincible.

What do you do in your free time? Spend time with friends and family.

If you could have dinner with someone dead or alive who would it be and what would you ask them? Will Smith. He is a believer in creating your own life. Law of Attraction. You can do, be, have anything you want…but you are gonna have to work for it. Three things: Patience, Perseverance, and Perspective. I don’t think I’d ask anything in specific but we would just enjoy talking about life.

Short Term Goal: Complete the Marine Corps Marathon and qualify for the Boston marathon

Long Term Goal: Compete in the KONA Ironman World Championships two times. Once in a wheelchair and once on my feet. I’ve already mapped out my way to get there!
