Music stimulates more parts of the brain than any other human function. There is so much potential in music’s power to change the brain and affect the way it works.

Elena Mannes, author or The Power of Music, says music also has the potential to help people with neurological deficits such as stroke, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s

There may not be specific research on spinal cord injury that I am aware of but I can guarantee you music helped me during rehabilitation! I remember friends and family supporting me, and I associate songs to different moments during that period. Plus, I love going to concerts and festivals- it marks the beginning of my favorite season- SUMMER!  Music can help you get through tough times or celebrate the good ones! I’d love to share with you some really talented people with SCI/D!
