PeerConnect: Dads with Disabilities

June 14 @ 5:00 pm CDT - 6:00 pm CDT

As we celebrate Father’s Day in June, we want to invite you to join a conversation with two incredible dads with disabilities. Kenny Salvini and Blake Perkins will share their journey into becoming a dad and parenting with a disability.

Kenny Salvini

Kenny Salvini is a father, husband, writer, community organizer, and C-3-4 quadriplegic living in Sumner, Washington. In 2015, he founded The Here and Now Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the mission to connect and empower the paralysis community in the Pacific Northwest. Kenny is also a regular contributor to New Mobility magazine, and he and his wife, Claire, detailed their journey to parenthood in a 2021 cover story.

Blake Perkins

Blake is a husband to Tami and dad to Dela James. He spends his days working as a physical therapist in SCI research and clinical assistive technology in northeast Ohio, and moonlights as a wanna-be singer-songwriter. Notably, Blake has also recently been formally accepted as Dela James' backup dance partner for Raffi and The Wiggles dance parties.
