PeerConnect: Parents of Individuals with SCI

When an individual acquires a spinal cord injury, it has an impact on the entire family. Parents have to quickly learn to navigate the confusing world of medical care, health insurance, caregiving and financial strain when their child is diagnosed with a SCI.
We welcome parents who have children with spinal cord injuries (of all ages) to join us for a discussion! Come learn from other families and share your advice for tricky situations you’ve encountered. Our informal chat will offer a space to learn from and support other parents going through the ups and downs that come with spinal cord injuries.
BACKBONES PeerConnect is a program offering monthly online meetups for people in the spinal cord injury and disease (SCI/D) community looking to connect with their peers. Whether you have many years post injury, or if you are new to the community, PeerConnect is a great way to meet others, share your story, and learn from other people with similar experiences to you.
